Position: SQL Developer
Location: Fort Mill/Charlotte, North Carolina, United States

We are looking for talented SQL Developers to join our team and take on the challenge of managing and optimizing a complex legacy SQL environment. This is a unique opportunity to work with a 15-year-old infrastructure of 180 interconnected SQL instances supporting critical applications like data warehousing, inventory, trucking, routing, logistics, and sales commission systems.
What We’re Looking For:
- Expert SQL Programmers and Coders: Focused on problem-solving, ownership, and understanding of complex environments—not just SQL Admin skills.
- Legacy System Experience: Ability to navigate and optimize systems built over years, ensuring seamless interconnectivity and application performance.
- Integration Expertise: Proficiency in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and maintaining multiple copies of data in real-time across databases.
- Additional Skills (Nice to Have): Disaster recovery, business continuity, and database uptime strategies.
Must-Have Skills:
- Database Design and Development:
- Database design review and method planning (RentalMan)
- Development and optimization to enhance system performance.
- SQL Query Optimization:
- Review and optimize SQL queries to improve performance and reduce resource consumption.
- Collaborate with developers to implement best practices for writing efficient SQL code.
- Schema and Indexing Strategy:
- Conduct database schema reviews, evaluate indexing strategies, and normalize data for optimal performance.
- Monitor database growth and plan for future capacity needs to avoid degradation.
- Performance Tuning and Archiving:
- Implement strategies for archiving old or unused data to maintain system efficiency.
- Scale database infrastructure and manage capacity planning for future expansion.
Location Flexibility:
- Ideally based in the Charlotte suburbs or South Carolina.
- Remote Option: Available for exceptional candidates, provided they can spend 4-6 weeks onsite initially for training and team familiarization.
